Welcome

The West Midlands Region of Pentathlon·GB comprises the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire.  The Region also serves Wales. 

There are currently 5 affiliated clubs in this region, contact details are listed on the Clubs page.  Clubs affiliated to Pentathlon·GB tend to be either schools or swimming, running & fencing clubs which have an interest in:

modern biathlon (run and swim), 
triathlon (run, swim and shoot), 
tetrathlon (run, swim, shoot and fence)
or pentathlon (run, swim, shoot, fence and ride).

Pentathlon comprises the five sports of running, swimming, pistol shooting, fencing and horse riding (show jumping).  For a brief description of each discipline, click on the images at the right of this page.  For information and frequently asked questions on how to get started click here. 

All the events have variations depending on the age of the competitors.  In addition club competitions may include 'local' rules for ease of administration.  The basis of competition is that competition times and scores are converted to points, based on published tables.  Placings are established from aggregate points for all the disciplines.

The age groups for competitions are as follows:
